CaribSea Purple Up 16oz

B$29.90

*Brings out the vibrat colours in your life rocks.
*Wont encourage the growth of nuisance algae.
*One bottle of purple up replaces multi-product recipes for coralline algae.

Accelerates the desirable and purple-pink coralline algae growth. Unique, single bottle formulation immediately raises calcium levels and target liverocks surfaces. Replenishes Iodine levels and wont encourage nuisance algae growth. Use 5ml (1 capful) per 50 gallons once daily.

Directions:

Shake well before use. Add 1 capful (5ml) per 50 Gallons no more than once daily. Place in sump, near powerhead outlet or any high flow area of the tank for rapid dispersion. Purple up will cause temporary cloudiness. Check calcium level regularly. Adjust dosage of Purple Up to maintain calcium level between 380ppm and 420ppm. (380mg/l to 420mg/l). Do not exceed 420 ppm or precipitation may occur.

Factors for best coralline algae growth:
  • Purple Up does not contain coralline algae. Some coralline algae must already be present on rocks or aquarium glass.
  • High levels of dissolved phosphates level inhibits the grows of coralline algae (and corals) and increase the growth of nuisance algaes.
  • Carbonate hardness levels should be maintained at natural seawater levels or higher.
  • High nitrogenous waste levels (Ammonia) encourages the growth of nuisance algae.
  • Keep Ph in the range of normal seawater (8.2)
  • Light spectrum in the range of 5500K or higher favours the growth of coralline algae.
  • Grazing animals like snails, Tangs and reef friendly hermit crabs, encourage growth of coralline algae by comsuming nuisance algae.
  • Coralline algae have a lifecycle that determines the speed of formation of new colonies. Different species of coralline algae may have different growth rates. It is not unusual to take several months for pink and purple coralline algaes to reach rapid growth rate.
