ROWAphos® is the professional method of removing Phosphate and Silicate in all types of Aquariums and Ponds. It is widely used in Europe and is now finding success in the United States. Developed in Germany to reduce Phosphates in the Main Water Supply, ROWAphos is being used in lakes & ponds and has now been refined for the Aquarium Market. ROWAphos will not only remove phosphates; it will never release them back into the aquarium system.

It has the largest absorption ability of any phosphate product and will not leach back in to the water. This saves the need for immediate removal once the media is full. The product is easy to use and will improve the water quality wherever Phosphate or Silicate is a problem. It is of interest to Marine and Reef Aquariums where its unrivalled capabilities have shown it to be extremely beneficial in the control of nuisance algae’s and the growth of hard corals. Unlike other phosphate removal products, it does not shock the animals or cause problems when used regularly. In fact constant use of the product is recommended, as its abilities to control nuisance algae is a major benefit.

Instructions: Can be used in a Phosphate Reactor **Most efficient method** (Two Little Fishies PhosBan Reactor) or placed in a net bag into the sump or inside a Canister Filter.

Two Little Fishies PhosBan Reactor

B$ 148 only. (Pre-orders only. Please allow 2 weeks for delivery. Call or SMS 8606680 to order)

The PhosBan Reactor 150 is used to remove Phosphate from your marine tank. Phosphates causes accessive ugly algae bloom in a marine tank. Corals do NOT open as big as it should if Phosphates are present in your marine tank. The PhosBan Reactor is perfect to be used with RowaPhos media (sold separately)

The PhosBan Reactor 150 has become a staple amongst most aquarist who keeps SPS hard corals. It can be mounted hanging on the back of the aquarium or below the aquarium in the sump cabinet. Includes ball valve for regulating flow, and flexible connection fittings that rotates 180 degrees to allow a custom fit to your installation. The threaded lid design makes servicing quick and easy. The PhosBan Reactor 150 is suitable for up to 150 Gallons aquarium.

The PhosBan reactor is designed with any up-flow principle to achieve the most efficient use of PhosBan or other chemical filter media. By pushing the water from the bottom upward towards a dispersion plate, it forces an even distribution of water through the media, prevents channelizing. Recommended flow rate is 80 to 90 gallons per hour.

CLARKII ANEMONEFISH (Amphiprion chrysopterus)

B$ 12 (Medium)

Commonly know has the Blue Line Clown, or the Orangefin Anemonefish or Clarki Anemonefish. A member of the damselfish family. Known to be hardy and attractive fish.

In the wild it will choose Heteractis crispa, Heteractis magnifica, Stichodactyla haddoni, or Entacmaea quadricolor as a host anemone. Clownfish do not require a host anemone, and will do just fine without, provided there is some form of shelter.

The diet of the Blue Line should consist of fresh or frozen seafoods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty items.

Pink Skunk Clown (Amphiprion perideraion)

B$ 6 (small) B$ 8 (medium) B$ 10 (large)

Commonly know has the Pink Skunk Clownfish. This fish has a white stripe that runs from its face along the top of the head and down the back. It also has a single vertical white bar located between its eye and pectoral fin. A member of the damselfish family. The Pink Skunk Clownfish is usually one of the more docile clowns, though it will not tolerate others of the same species or appearance.

In the wild it will choose Heteractis magnifica, Heteractis crispa, and Stichodactyla gigantea as host anemones. In the home aquarium they are known to accept Entacmaea quadricolor as a host, as well as some corals. Clownfish do not require a host anemone, and will do just fine without, provided there is some form of shelter.

The diet of the Skunk Clownfish should consist of fresh or frozen seafoods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty items.

Keyhole Angel (Centropyge tibicen)

CaribSea Purple Up 16oz

B$29.90

*Brings out the vibrat colours in your life rocks.
*Wont encourage the growth of nuisance algae.
*One bottle of purple up replaces multi-product recipes for coralline algae.

Accelerates the desirable and purple-pink coralline algae growth. Unique, single bottle formulation immediately raises calcium levels and target liverocks surfaces. Replenishes Iodine levels and wont encourage nuisance algae growth. Use 5ml (1 capful) per 50 gallons once daily.

Directions:

Shake well before use. Add 1 capful (5ml) per 50 Gallons no more than once daily. Place in sump, near powerhead outlet or any high flow area of the tank for rapid dispersion. Purple up will cause temporary cloudiness. Check calcium level regularly. Adjust dosage of Purple Up to maintain calcium level between 380ppm and 420ppm. (380mg/l to 420mg/l). Do not exceed 420 ppm or precipitation may occur.

Factors for best coralline algae growth:
  • Purple Up does not contain coralline algae. Some coralline algae must already be present on rocks or aquarium glass.
  • High levels of dissolved phosphates level inhibits the grows of coralline algae (and corals) and increase the growth of nuisance algaes.
  • Carbonate hardness levels should be maintained at natural seawater levels or higher.
  • High nitrogenous waste levels (Ammonia) encourages the growth of nuisance algae.
  • Keep Ph in the range of normal seawater (8.2)
  • Light spectrum in the range of 5500K or higher favours the growth of coralline algae.
  • Grazing animals like snails, Tangs and reef friendly hermit crabs, encourage growth of coralline algae by comsuming nuisance algae.
  • Coralline algae have a lifecycle that determines the speed of formation of new colonies. Different species of coralline algae may have different growth rates. It is not unusual to take several months for pink and purple coralline algaes to reach rapid growth rate.

White Spots (Marine Ich)

In respond to Guest's message on White Spots (Marine Ich)

By doing 20% water change every 2 week, the parasites are still in your tank and they will continue their life cycle and infect your fishes. The way to remove the parasite is to cut off their life cycle. There are 2 methods to cure whitespot. First is to use copper-based medicines and do a quick bath dip for your infected fishes. Please note that certain invertebrates such as snails, shrimps and crabs are very sensitive to copper-based medicines and may die from exposure to copper. Fishes however can tolerate for a certain period of time. Another safer way to cure marine ich (white spot) is to do a Hyposalinity treatment. This is how you can perform the treatment.

*Hyposalinity* means the adjustment of the water salinity to a lower level. e.g 1.010

Here are the steps:

1) Set up a quarantine tank with clean saltwater (Freshly prepared without any chlorine). Salinity should be the same as your current tank, e.g Between 1.020 - 1.025
(You may use a clean plastic basin to quarantine the fishes).
2) Place a small power head or air stone into the quarantine tank to provide water circulation and oxygen.
3) The next day, put some freshwater (without any chlorine) into the quarantine tank.
4) Repeat this until the salinity of the water reaches 1.010 (Over a period of 1 week)
5) Maintain the salinity at this level (1.010) for another 4-5 days until the white spots have dissapeared.
6) A submersible heater may be placed into the tank to raise the temperature to about 27C.
7) When fishes are free from parasites, slowly increase the salinity of the quarantine tank by adding higher salinity freshly prepared saltwater day by day until its the same as the main tank (The reverse process).
8) While you are doing this, you may want to change 50% of the main tank water. (The remaining parasites would have died off as they do not have a host to continue their life cycle)
9) Return fishes to main tank after both quarantine tank salinity and main tank matches.
10) Continue to monitor for marine ich.

*The parasites will die off from low salinity and a warmer temperature.
*Use a good refractometer or salinity gauge for this exercise.
